Our Florence dress is back for her third year with us, which probably tells you everything you need to know. She has built up quite a loyal following over the years, and once you put her on, it’s easy to understand why. A lot of you will also be thrilled to see that the Greek blue version has returned.

Still made from our lovely cotton and linen blend, Florence has had a few subtle updates this season, including a clever adjustable strap detail (without those plastic bra adjusters I never particularly wanted to use). We’ve also made some small fit improvements throughout, so do check the measurements before choosing your size.

With her embroidered bodice, easy flowing shape and low back detail, Florence somehow manages to feel both relaxed and a little bit dramatic at the same time.

She works in more ways than you might expect - thrown over swimwear on holiday, worn wandering around a city with an oversized jacket pushed up at the sleeves, or straight out to dinner with gold jewellery and a slick of lipgloss.

Personally, I love her with our Sienna jacket for that effortless cool-girl feel (even if I am in my 50s).

Fit and Sizing

Rae (blonde) wears M (size 12 5'4) Tara (brunette) wears XS (size 8 5'8).

The back can be pulled or relaxed when moving the straps so there is room for movement.

30% linen 70% cotton

Wash on cool. Iron as normal.

Stunning blue dress!

What a beautiful elegant dress, such a stunning blue, the colour of the Mediterranean sea! I'm a 10/12 and the size M fits, although I notice just a teeny bit looser than the brown colourway. Washes a treat and lovely thick fabric that is light enough to be swishy but heavy enough not to be see through. Dress it up or down, it's so versatile - all I need now is a tan! oh and it has pockets!!!!!!

Blue skies and sunshine in a dress

Beautiful dress in beautiful fabric The material is cool to wear but has substance and is not flimsy or see through. I am a regular M&S size 12 and the medium is a great fit. I just followed the sizing chart. The bodice is cleverly designed so you don’t need a bra but you can wear a strapless one or bra cami with it. On holiday I would wear this dress day and night and at home you can dress it up with sandals and jacket or slouch it down with a knit and trainers I know I will still love wearing this dress in ten years time and as it is so well made I know it will still look great. As soon as you put it on you feel cheerful and the world seems a sunnier place even on a cloudy day. Thank you Rae. You are a brilliant designer - this dress is a perfect combination of flair, form and fabric.
