Finally a margarita t-shirt. One of my most favourite cocktails - especially a 'Tommy' which is a spicy margarita. La Casa De Las Margaritas (The home of Margaritas)..... You know I love a bit of trivia behind a cocktail so ...... There are lots of stories around when, where and who invented the Margarita, but Mexico's official news agency and many experts say the strongest claim is that it was first mixed in Tommy's Place, a bar in Juárez on July 4th 1942 by Francisco 'Pancho' Morales. He later left bartending in Mexico to become a US citizen where he worked as a milkman for 25 years. So go grab a net of limes here's a recipe given to me by a bar man who made one of the best spicy margaritas I've had. 40ml cazcabel blanco tequila (or I use Olmeca Altos), 20ml cointreau, 30ml lime juice, a few dashes of tabasco (roughly 8-10) and 15ml agave syrup and shake. I love the vintage rock look of this t-shirt. It's a really flattering shape with a rolled up sleeve. It sits really well over coated jeans, under a tux or tuck into a skirt and add a sequin bomber. It's the same base tee as the FIZZ so if you're a fan of that then you're on to a winner already. Screaming Eagle 1992 is one of the most expensive bottles of wine ever sold at auction. It was the debut vintage from the now cult Napa Valley winery, and only 175 bottles were ever made. A case of 6 bottles sold at auction for a staggering $500,000 and you can currently snap one up via wine searcher for a bargain of around £15,000! Strangely enough I haven't tried it, but Robert Parker (the Napa loving wine critic) gave it 99/100 points. This is my take on it as I doubt very much I'll ever get to try the real deal.... There is always a story behind any slogan I come up with, I can't just simply put a random slogan on a t-shirt. This is the story of a secret vineyard in Paris, tucked away in the little side streets behind the Sacré Cœur. Le Clos Montmartre was created in 1933 by the city of Paris in order to stop real estate developers building on the land. Each October the grapes are pressed in the basement of the 18e arrondissement's Mairie and around 1000 bottles are then auctioned off with the profits being put towards funding projects in the area. Tim Atkins has tried it twice saying it's somewhere between a decent Beaujolais and a Hautes Cotes de Nuit red, light, fruity and appealing but with no great complexity. This tee however is a beautiful organic cotton and modal slub blend. It's soft and slouchy and looks great with everything. Style with a French tuck into jeans, add a bright red lip then position yourself at an outdoor table, order a glass of red and if you can't get there just pretend you're in a Parisian street café. Designed to celebrate the return of the Sex and the City girls hitting our screens in AND JUST LIKE THAT - it's COSMOPOLITANS all round! There are different opinions on who when and where the Cosmopolitan cocktail was invented. One suggestion is that bartender Cheryl Cook came up with it in 1985 in South Beach Miami. Another claims it was in 1975 by a guy called Neal Murray from Minneapolis. Who knows, but what I do know is that it was a woman named Carrie Bradshaw from New York City who made it famous in 1998, and that’ll do for me. This is a beautiful organic cotton modal slub blend. It's soft and slouchy and looks fabulous with everything. I've simply added a tulle skirt, releasing my inner Ms Bradshaw, or some sequin black trousers. Now all we need is a cocktail. Milano Torino is a bitter sweet cocktail, which is like a Negroni but without the gin as it's simply made with Campari and sweet vermouth. It was created at Milan's caffé Camparino in the 1860's and was named after it's original ingredients - Campari from Milan (Milano in Italian), and and sweet vermouth traditionally comes from Turin (Torino in Italian). The added soda water became the Americano and the added gin later on became the Negroni. Just mix, pour over ice and add a slice of orange peel. Deeeelish. Tastes better when sat by a pool. Purple Rain rock Tee

So as my slogans revolve around the world of wine and cocktails, imagine my excitement as I was researching the history of a particular era and a cocktail named Purple Rain appeared! It was of course inspired by Prince (or at least the name was due to the grenadine gradually sinking through the blue curacao which invokes the imagery of rain), but the drink itself is a variation of the Long Island Iced Tea. Along with the blue curacao and grenadine (a nightmare if you spill it when wearing white!) it is then mixed with vodka, cranberry and lemonade. Pour over ice and finish with some fresh lime. The t-shirt itself is a classic easy to wear design and is the same tee I use for FIZZ and Bon Vintage retro.
