BRETON STRIPE TOPS
The Breton stripe is one of the most classic pieces to have in a wardrobe, along with a white tee.
I spent a very very long time drawing and measuring stripes. I wanted to make sure that I absolutely loved it as I adore Breton stripe tops, but I definitely prefer some over others.
The Breton stripe originated in 1858 as part of the uniform for French navy seamen in Northern France (Brittany, hence Breton/Bretagne).
A true Breton should have 21 stripes, one for each of Napoleon’s victories, but I ignored that as I don’t like rules….
I hope you love them.
